Even Microsoft didn't expect it! Windows 11 is growing fast

Windows 11 adoption has skyrocketed in the last month. Should you upgrade to the new operating system, the successor to Windows 10?

Even Microsoft didn't expect it! Windows 11 is growing fast

Despite Microsoft’s efforts to migrate users to Windows 11, the growth of Windows 11 adoption has slowed considerably in recent months. But new analysis shows that Windows 11 adoption is finally starting to pick up again.

Windows 11 is chasing Windows 10 in terms of adoption rate

A new report by AdDuplex, the ad network used by popular apps and games, has revealed the current state of Windows 10 and Windows 11 in the market. The figures in the analysis, which covers the month of May, showed that more than 23 percent of the devices AdDuplex analyzed had Windows 11.

April’s data showed that Windows 11 had a market share of 19.4 percent. In other words, the Windows 11 usage rate, which has expanded to 23.1 percent as of May, seems to have increased by roughly 4 points compared to the previous month.

April’s data showed that Windows 11 had a market share of 19.4 percent. In other words, the Windows 11 usage rate, which has expanded to 23.1 percent as of May, seems to have increased by roughly 4 points compared to the previous month.

This report, which covers only devices with Windows 10 and 11, finally shows that at least one in five PCs has Windows 11 installed. It looks like Microsoft’s efforts to transition users to the new operating system are finally paying off.

The latest operating system was launched nine months ago. While reaching 23.1 percent in nine months may seem a bit slow, the 4 percent increase in the last month has not gone unnoticed. For comparison, Windows 10 managed to have a 38 percent share in the first 12 months.

The global Windows usage report by research firm StatCounter revealed that Windows 11 ranked third among all Windows versions. Just ahead of Windows 11, which had a 10 percent share as of May, were Windows 7 (13 percent) and Windows 10 (71 percent), respectively.

Windows 11 may not be as popular as Windows 10 for some time, but it looks like it will soon overtake Windows 7. This increase in usage is mainly due to Microsoft’s pushing users to the new operating system.
