Musk has big plans to serve Twitter
In an interview open to the company’s 8,000 or so employees, Musk, who “pretended to own Twitter,” answered questions about free speech, layoff conditions and his plans for the company.
Musk, one of the world’s richest businesspeople, did not say whether he would finalize his earlier preliminary agreement with the social media platform, but said he had big plans for Twitter’s service.
Musk, who has more than 98 million followers on Twitter, said he has long believed that the company’s potential has been underutilized.
The process of selling Twitter to Musk
Businessman Elon Musk announced on May 13 that the deal to buy social media company Twitter for about $44 billion was temporarily suspended “due to expected details on the calculation that spam and fake accounts account for less than 5 percent of total users”.
Musk, who had previously purchased a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, had made an offer of $ 54.2 per share for the entire Twitter in his notification to the SEC on April 14.
In a statement made by Twitter on April 25, it was reported that an agreement was reached to sell the company to Musk for $ 54.2 per share.
If Musk gives up buying Twitter, he will have to pay 1 billion dollars in accordance with the previously reached agreement.
