Is it the next nuclear threat from Vladimir Putin in the Ukraine war? The Kremlin seems to have mastered the game of fear. There has been repeated speculation about whether Vladimir Putin could order a nuclear strike and thus plunge Russia into a nuclear war. After pictures of “Putin’s nuclear train” appeared on the Internet, which was supposedly moving in the direction of the Ukraine front, the excitement was great. There was also discussion about the possibility of Russian troops conducting a nuclear weapons test in the Black Sea – with potentially drastic consequences for coastal regions.

Now Vladimir Putin has raised further fears that he could be on the verge of nuclear war after his so-called doomsday plane was spotted over the skies of Moscow. A tweet by journalist Scott Stedman (see below) shows the route of the nuclear plane as it circles at low altitude over the Russian capital. The “Doomsday” plane, as it is also known, is named because the type of aircraft is used as a command post in the air in the event of a nuclear war. It has been given the name “Maxdome” by NATO.

The Ilyushin Il-80 is designed to serve as a command center for the Russian president in the event of a nuclear war and can be used by Russian officials. It is one of four aircraft that can withstand electromagnetic pulses and has few windows to protect its passengers from a nuclear blast.

The Russian president has repeatedly threatened to use his nuclear arsenal against the West if NATO continues to provide military assistance to Ukraine. “If the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, we will absolutely use all available means to protect Russia and our people. This is not a bluff,” Putin stated recently.
