Speaking at an event in Moscow, Borisov said that they had signed an agreement with China for joint work on the Moon.
Explaining that an important project is being developed with China regarding the work on the Moon, Borisov said, “We are evaluating a project to deliver and install a nuclear energy unit on the lunar surface together with our Chinese colleagues in 2033-2035.”
Borisov added that the unit would have to be built using robotic technologies.
Roscosmos and the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) signed a memorandum of understanding in 2021 to establish a joint station to conduct research on the Moon.
