According to the Straits Times website, a statement from North Korea’s Foreign Ministry said, “On the occasion of your country’s National Day, Her Majesty’s official birthday, I congratulate you and your people.”
The message is said to be “the first public message Kim Jong-un has ever sent to the Queen.”
British officials said such a message had been sent before, while a database search revealed that it was the first time the message had appeared in the North Korean press.
