It turned out that the pilots of the ITA Airlines New York-Rome flight fell asleep during the passenger plane’s flight over Marseille, France, and despite all the calls, the pilots could not be reached.
Authorities took action after the plane failed to contact the plane in Marseille, suggesting that the passenger plane may have been hijacked.
