Israeli army radio reported that all of the victims of the attack on Iran’s consulate building in Damascus were Iranian military personnel and that Iranian diplomats were unharmed.

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahidi, a commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps who was killed in the attack, was allegedly in charge of armed groups in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, “directing attacks on Israel through Tehran’s proxies in the region, especially armed attacks inside Israel.”

It was shared that Zahidi, who was killed in the attack, was in charge of air elements as well as ground forces.

As with other attacks attributed to it in Syria, Tel Aviv has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahidi, a commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps, was killed in an airstrike on Iran’s consulate building in Damascus.

Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Hossein Akberi, said that Israel had organized the attack on Iran’s consulate in Damascus and that it would respond “swiftly, directly and strongly”.

Akbari stated that Israel targeted the consulate building in the compound of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus with 6 missiles launched from F-35 fighter jets.

Israeli media had reported that Tel Aviv had put its diplomatic missions abroad on high alert against Iranian retaliatory attacks.
