US forces responded to the rocket attack on the US base by Iran-backed groups on the west bank of the Euphrates River in Syria.
According to the information obtained from local sources, Iran-backed terrorist groups based in Meyadin district launched at least 3 rocket attacks on the base in Omar Oil Field where US forces are stationed in the PKK/YPG-occupied area.
The US forces responded to the attack with surface-to-surface weapons against the positions of the Iranian-backed groups about 25 kilometers away.
The US has not yet commented on the attack.
Since the beginning of the year, US military bases in Hasakah and Dar al-Zour have been frequently targeted with rockets and kamikaze drones of unknown origin.
Deir Ezzor lands east of the Euphrates River are occupied by the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, while the provincial center and other rural areas are under the control of the Bashar al-Assad regime and Iran-backed groups.
