Euro-Med: We confirmed Israeli strikes on civilians waiting for aid

Geneva-based Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Watch (Euro-Med) said its preliminary investigations into the killing of more than 100 civilians in Gaza as they waited for aid “confirm the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinian civilians starving to death from Israeli military fire.”

In a written statement released by Euro-Med about yesterday’s attack, it was reported that the Israeli army released an aerial and edited video, claiming that the large number of civilian deaths were caused by “stampedes and trampling” and trying to absolve itself from this atrocity.

The statement added that Euro-Med investigative teams observed the incident from the first moments, and that Israeli tanks opened heavy fire on groups of Palestinian civilians trying to receive humanitarian aid in the west and south of Gaza.

The statement emphasized that there are four evidences confirming that the Israeli army killed civilians, the first of which is the injury marks on the bodies of the dead and wounded.

It was also underlined that the sound that could be heard during the shooting of civilians was identified as coming from an automatic weapon used by the Israeli army.

Noting that the video released by the Israeli army was deliberately edited and distorted, the statement said that in the 66th second of the video, at least 2 Israeli tanks and many dead bodies were found on the road where the tanks were located instead of aid trucks.

“Our preliminary investigations have confirmed the death and injury of dozens of Palestinian civilians who were starving to death as a result of the Israeli army’s fire,” the statement said.

Yesterday, at least 112 people were killed in an Israeli attack on those waiting for humanitarian aid at the Nablusi Junction on Rashid Street in southern Gaza City.
