In a post on his X social media account, Katz announced that the Brazilian Ambassador to Israel was summoned to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum in West Jerusalem.
Katz argued that the Brazilian President’s remarks were a “serious anti-Semitic attack” and that they “will not forgive and forget”.

Katz noted that Brazilian President Lula da Silva “will be persona non grata in Israel until he apologizes and takes back his words.”
Brazilian President Lula da Silva called Israel’s occupation of Gaza “genocide”, likening it to the actions of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and saying that what was happening in the Gaza Strip was “not war, but genocide”.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu also reacted to Lula da Silva’s remarks and said that “a red line has been crossed”.
