EU High Representative: Israeli attack on Rafah will have disastrous consequences

Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, drew attention to the situation of around 1.4 million Palestinians in Rafah, south of Gaza, in a statement on his social media account.

“Right now they have nowhere safe to go and are facing hunger,” Borrell said:

“Reports of an Israeli attack on Rafah are alarming. This will have disastrous consequences that will exacerbate the already dire humanitarian situation and unbearable civilian casualties.
