Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Szejna argued that the United States has the right to launch air strikes in Iraq and Syria.
Szejna told reporters that the Polish Foreign Ministry recognizes the right of the United States to carry out air strikes on the territory of Iraq and Syria.
“The US response is in the framework of ensuring security and countering future attacks by terrorist organizations,” Szejna said, adding that the US actions were a response to an earlier terrorist attack on a military base in Jordan in which three American soldiers were killed.
Emphasizing that Iran has no right to retaliate, the Polish diplomat said, “I would like to remind you that these attacks were a military operation using long-range bombers that accurately hit targets. Concerns about some kind of retaliation from Iran are not justified because the attack was not on the territory of this country, but on a terrorist organization.”
The Polish diplomat also advised his citizens to ‘strictly’ avoid traveling to the Middle East.
