In France, Thomas Portes, MP for the socialist Unbowed France (LFI) Party, filed a criminal complaint against 4,185 French citizen soldiers in the Israeli army for “complicity in crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza”.
In a statement on his social media account, Thomas Portes drew attention to the extent of the crimes committed by the Israeli army against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, Anadolu Agency reported.
Portes said he had filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor’s office against French soldiers fighting in Gaza and the West Bank.

Portes, who also shared the criminal complaint petition he sent to the prosecutor’s office, noted that there are 4,185 French citizen soldiers operating in the Israeli army in the region.
Thomas Portes reminded that 70 percent of Gaza’s population, including 1 percent women and children, have been killed since October 7, and stressed that civilians in Gaza have been forcibly displaced.
Portes reminded that in the last two months, many international legal experts and human rights organizations have described the massacres in the region as “war crimes”, “crimes against humanity” or “genocide”.
Stating that there is strong evidence that crimes against humanity and war crimes have been committed in Gaza, Portes argued that French soldiers stationed in Gaza are “complicit” in these crimes and should therefore face justice.
Portes pointed out that French justice has an obligation to investigate the responsibility of French officials in the region for actions contrary to international and French law.
