European Union bans TikTok for its employees

The European Union (EU) Commission has instructed its employees to remove the TikTok application from their private and corporate phones.

According to the news on the Politico website, the EU Commission, which operates as the executive body of the Union, banned the use of social media application TikTok due to security concerns.

In this context, all Commission employees were instructed in the morning to remove the application from their personal or corporate devices with any work-related application installed.

Other EU institutions, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament, are expected to take similar steps in the near future.

TikTok, owned by a Chinese technology company, is causing national security concerns in some countries.

In the USA, TikTok use was banned on devices used for official service.
