TikTok, which has been the subject of countless debates, has been facing the risk of being banned in the United States of America (USA) for some time. The platform, which wants to eliminate this ban, published a report showing its impact on the economy. In the report in question, TikTok’s contribution to both the economy in general and businesses drew attention.
TikTok has generated almost $15 billion in returns for small- to medium-sized businesses.
In 2023, the platform generated $14.7 billion for businesses and contributed $24.2 billion to economic activity overall. In addition, more than 7 million organizations in the US alone are connected to TikTok and 224,000 jobs are supported by activities on the platform. 98,000 of these jobs are directly connected to TikTok businesses.
It was also shared that businesses make 88 percent more sales on TikTok. The report in question was prepared by Oxford Economics, not TikTok. Of course, no one believes that the report was prepared out of the blue. Because last March, TikTok was banned in the US. It is thought that this report is hoped to influence this decision.
