Google Wallet app finally shows its face!

With its new wallet app, Google brings together credit cards, IDs, car keys, vaccination information and more.

Google Wallet was announced at Google I/O 2022 earlier this year. The new app is now available for use. With the launch of the application, the differences between it and Google’s other wallet-like application, G Pay, have also emerged.

Google Wallet acts as a digital wallet

Google Wallet is much simpler than G Pay. But this is also Google’s goal. Google Wallet, which is another way to access credit cards and other payment methods, aims to offer convenience to its users in this sense.

Google Wallet actually functions exactly like a normal wallet. With this system, which acts as a wallet in a digital environment, all cards are collected in one place. G Pay, on the other hand, allows users to send money to each other and track the spending of linked bank accounts.

Although the two seem to serve relatively similar purposes, Google Wallet stands out in this sense, especially since it has a contactless payment option. Essentially, you need both apps if you want the full Google mobile payments experience. G Pay will automatically redirect you to Google Wallet when using many of its features.

Although these two apps are acting separately for now, we can expect a different move from Google in the future. The technology giant can provide ease of use by gathering both applications under a single roof in the future.

Google Wallet is only available in certain regions for now. The scope of the wallet application is expected to expand in the future. So, do you plan to use Google Wallet? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section.
