Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria have closed their airspace to Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. Lavrov’s visit to Serbia was also cancelled.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is scheduled to visit Serbia’s capital Belgrade, has received airspace obstructions from Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Local media reported that Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria have closed their airspace to Lavrov, who is scheduled to be in Serbia on June 6th and 7th as part of official visits.
Lavrov’s visit to Serbia was cancelled after three countries imposed airspace barriers. Serbian media reported that Lavrov’s visit to Serbia was cancelled because Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria refused to allow passage to Lavrov’s plane.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will meet with Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandar Bocan-Harcenko today on the three countries’ decision and will deliver an address to the nation later in the day.
