The expert group, which reports on the causes of ‘Havana syndrome’ for the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), concluded that a possible explanation for this phenomenon could be the effect of “the vibrating energy of electromagnetic waves.”
The document outlining the experts’ findings was published on the website of the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
“The flickering energy of electromagnetic waves, especially in the radio range, explains the basic characteristics quite convincingly, although there are gaps in the data,” the document says.
Another version presented in the report concerns the effect of ultrasound. However, experts note that this is only possible ‘if the ultrasound source is close to the target’.
Experts did not seek answers to the question of whether specific individuals were behind the energy used against US officials. “It was also not examined whether a foreign actor was behind this,” the report said.
Health experts, scientists and engineers were among the group that prepared this report for the CIA. The country’s government gave these experts access to classified documents containing information about events related to ‘Havana syndrome’.
