‘WE FOLLOW WITH GREAT CONCERN’
Tensions between Russia and Ukraine have been increased by the United States, Peskov said. Nothing changes about that. We are following the actions of the United States in this direction with great concern,” he said.
Noting that the United States has put 8,500 troops on alert for support if the NATO Response Force is activated in case of unexpected situations in the Ukraine crisis, Peskov said this does not affect security-related negotiations between Russia and the United States and NATO.
“The negotiations at the current stage are over. We are waiting for written answers to understand how and when we will resume negotiations. We hope that will happen this week,” he said.
“Did Russian President Vladimir Putin and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez discuss the deployment of military bases and the development of military technical cooperation in a phone call yesterday?” peskov said, adding that the two sides matched their positions on international issues.
