Tesla said in a statement that the armed conflicts in the Red Sea and the associated shifts in shipping routes between Europe and Asia through the Cape of Good Hope were reflected in the supply chain, which affected production in Germany due to delays.

Pointing out that extended transportation times create gaps in supply chains, the statement said, “Due to missing components, we have to suspend vehicle production at the Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg between January 29 and February 11, except for a few regions. Production will resume in full from February 12,” the statement said.
