According to national media reports, unidentified gunmen organized an attack in Omala district of Kogi state.
The attack left 19 people dead and dozens injured.
Many houses were set on fire and food products of the residents were seized in the attack.
The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, confirmed the incident and said an investigation has been launched.
Nigeria is struggling with attacks by armed gangs in different regions as well as terrorist organizations Boko Haram and ISWAP, the West African branch of DAESH.
