The side of Marilyn Monroe's grave sold for thousands of dollars! "I always dreamed of it"

The side of iconic actress Marilyn Monroe’s grave in Los Angeles went up for sale in recent weeks. One row above and four spaces to the left of the star’s grave sold for 195 thousand dollars at auction.

Beverley Hills-based investor Anthony Jabin said he had “always dreamed” of being next to Monroe. Jabin, who bought the side of the grave, also bought a bathing suit that belonged to Monroe and Hugh Hefner’s old bed.

The grave of Monroe, who died at the age of 36, is also very close to Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine. After Monroe’s death in 1962, her ex-husband Joe DiMaggio organized a private funeral for her in Westwood Village. Playboy founder Hefner was later scheduled to be buried in a cemetery next to the actor.

In 2009, Hefner told the Los Angeles Times, “Spending eternity next to Marilyn is too sweet to give up.” Hefner, who died in 2017, is known to have spent $75,000 in 1992 to secure his place.

In the auction held by Julien’s Auctions, Monroe’s pink Pucci dress was sold for 325 thousand dollars. The star’s Elizabeth Arden branded lipstick was sold for 65 thousand dollars, while Hefner’s jacket was sold for 13 thousand dollars.

Throughout her career, Monroe has starred in productions such as Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Some Like It Hot and How to Marry a Millionaire.
