The US Department of Commerce announced construction spending data for February.
Accordingly, construction spending in the country decreased by 0.3 percent in February compared to the previous month, seasonally adjusted, to 2 trillion 91.5 billion dollars.
Market expectations for construction spending were for a 0.7 percent increase in this period. Construction spending, which carried its decline to the second month, decreased by 0.2 percent in January.
Public construction expenditures decreased by 1.2 percent in February, while private construction expenditures remained flat.
Construction spending increased by 10.7 percent on an annual basis in February.
