US durable goods orders fall below expectations
Durable goods orders in the US fell 0.4 percent month on month in September, below expectations.
The US Department of Commerce released data on durable goods orders for September.
Accordingly, orders for durable goods decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous month and decreased to $261.3 billion in September.

Durable goods orders, which fell below market expectations in this period after 4 consecutive months of increase, were expected to decrease by 1.1 percent. The aforementioned data amounted to $262.3 billion, an increase of 1.3 percent in August.
The 2.3 percent decrease in transportation equipment was effective in the decrease in orders in September.
Orders excluding transportation increased by 0.4 percent in September, while non-defense orders decreased by 2 percent.
Orders for durable consumer goods, which consist of products with a life span of at least 3 years, are important in terms of providing information on industrial production.
