EDIT MESSAGES
Meta announced new features for Instagram’s messages tab.
One of the most important new features is the ability to edit messages.
According to this feature, users will be able to edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it.
The feature will come in handy if you want to fix a typo in a message or edit the message to make it look better, add details, remove details and so on.
To edit a message on Instagram, press and hold on the message you want to edit and select ‘Edit’.
STABILIZING CHATS
Another feature announced by Meta is chat pinning.
With this feature, users will be able to pin up to three conversations to the top of the message box.
To pin a chat, press and hold the chat you want to pin or swipe the chat to the left and select ‘Pin’.
TURNING OFF READ RECEIPT
When you send a message to someone on Instagram and they read it, the app shows you a note below the message indicating that the other person has read it and vice versa.
While this is a very useful feature, some people don’t want others to know they are reading messages.
For these people, Meta has now added the ability to turn off read receipts.
You can turn off read receipts for all chats or for selected chats.
To turn it off for all messages, go to Settings ” Messages and story replies ” Show read receipts and turn it off.
NEW CHAT THEMES
Instagram allows you to change the theme of a chat.
Meta is now adding several new chat themes to the platform, including Love, Lollipop and Avatar: The Last Airbender and many new chat themes.
Meta has started rolling out these features with the latest versions of the app for each platform (Android and iOS).
So make sure you update the app to the latest version.
STATEMENTS
Stickers are a great way to express your emotions and feelings in a conversation.
However, with so many stickers available on Instagram, it can be quite a hassle to find the ones you use the most.
To solve this problem, Meta now allows you to mark stickers as favorites in a chat.
When you mark a sticker as a favorite, it will appear at the top of the sticker section, giving you easy access to your loved ones every time.
One of the best messaging features on Instagram is sending a message by quoting another message in the chat.
This feature is being updated. You can now reply to a message with photos, videos, voice messages, GIFs and stickers, making it easier to chat with someone.
To reply using the new options, press and hold a message, select ‘Reply’ and choose the type of media you want to reply to.
