The global centers of evil, which continue their siege operations against Turkey, are making some attempts to break Ankara’s resistance. There is a situation like forcing Turkey to deliver arms, ammunition, etc. to Ukraine. What the devil does not think of comes to their minds.
Our neighbor Greece, for example, is planning to transfer the Patriot PAC-3 air defense system to Ukraine in exchange for American “guarantees” and a financial compensation package “against the Turkish threat”, despite President Erdoğan’s goodwill visit to Athens.
The Greeks are not only putting Turkey in an aggressive position, putting pressure on Turkey from the US, but also seeking financial compensation from the Americans. Even the phrase “shooting birds with stones” is inadequate to describe this move by the Greeks.
Another issue was that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was to travel to the United States on May 9th as an official guest and that Erdoğan was to meet with US President Joe Biden at the White House for the first time. But somehow rumors spread that this trip was canceled.
What caught my attention was that this allegation appeared in the media just before President Erdoğan’s visit to Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and then to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq.
It was reported in the Turkish media that Erdogan had canceled his visit to Washington because the US House of Representatives had approved a bill that included aid to Israel.
Perhaps behind the scenes of this rumor, the negotiations prior to the Washington meetings were effective. After some time, we will be able to hear the explanation of “what they asked for but we didn’t give” from US and Turkish officials.
There has been no official statement from either side on the fate of the invitation program. It seems inevitable that the cancellation of this trip, which is known to be important for Erdoğan in terms of prestige, will be billed by the US to the Turkish Foreign Affairs bureaucracy and will be reflected as a negative note on Dr. Hakan Fidan’s report card.

For the time being, we can talk about the designation of three major Naqshi sects. The first of these, and the one that has been established since the early years of the republic according to others, is the so-called Suleymanlı/ Süleymancı sect.
The reason for the state’s partial embrace is that Sheikh Süleyman Hilmi Tunahan, whose maternal lineage goes back to Mehmet the Conqueror, devoted all his work to the teaching of the Qur’an.
After World War II, Hazret was known for saying that Hitler lived in Istanbul and for his opposition to the French invasion of Algeria. He was frequently visited by intelligence captain Ziya Uygur from Senirkent. After his death, the community came under the control of his son-in-law Kemal Kaçar.
Süleymancıs are active in many countries outside Turkey and publish the magazines “İnsan ve Hayat, Çamlıca Çocuk, Yedikıta” in Turkey. They also have Fazilet and Çamlıca publishing houses. They have large trade organizations. The head of the sect is also the ‘CEO’ of the companies. After Kemal Kaçar, Arif Ahmet Denizolgun, the son of Kamil Denizolgun from Alanya, who was married to Tunahan’s other daughter Feriha Ferhan, became the head of the company, sorry, the sect.
Kemal Kaçar, the son-in-law of Süleyman Hilmi Tunahan who succeeded him after his death, died in 2000 and the sect was split in two. The sect, which was left to Ahmet Arif Denizolgun and Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun, the children of Tunahan’s daughter, was torn between the DYP and the AK Party. When the leader of the sect, Ahmet Arif Denizolgun, who supported the MHP after the DYP, died recently, his brother Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun was expected to succeed him, but 39-year-old architect Alihan Kuriş, the son of Denizolgun’s sister, took his place.
The Süleymancılar sect, led by Ahmet Denizolgun, was not very fragmented before the AK Party. After the AK Party was founded, Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun, who lived in Istanbul, started politics in the AK Party. And while Ahmet Denizolgun pointed to the DYP and MHP at that time, his brother said AK Party.
Alihan Kuriş, who became the head of the Süleymancılar congregation after Ahmet Denizolgun, broke his long-standing silence about the elections and informed his congregation in a letter that he would support the Good Party’s presidential candidate Meral Akşener.
After this development, Mehmet Beyazıt Denizolgun and his son Fatih Süleyman Denizolgun, who are AK Party members, argued that this advice was wrong, and based on the AK Party’s contributions to the country, they informed the congregation in writing that supporting Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would be more in line with the understanding of their teachers in the past.

Following the DAESH attack in Moscow on March 22nd, the Russian press scrutinized the congregations and sects in the country, and it was noteworthy that the Suleymanists were also included in the news warning about the congregations and sects that were found to be operating against Russia.

It was stated that a lawsuit was filed against those responsible for the violence against the students staying in the houses of the sect and that the sect is affiliated with German intelligence.

The Ismailaga congregation has recently been on the agenda with ‘leadership’ debates. Most recently, the sect announced that they were no longer affiliated with Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, popularly known as “Cübbeli Ahmet Hoca”.
Cübbeli Ahmet was at the forefront of the successor-successor debate that started during the lifetime of Mahmut Ustaosmanoglu, the sheikh of the Ismailaga Community, who was born in the village of Miço (Tavşanlı) in the district of Trabzon Of, and who ranked 34th in the list of “The World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims” 2022, published annually by the Jordan-based Royal Islamic Strategic Research Center. After the death of Mahmut Ustaosmanoglu from Miço, he was succeeded by his brother-in-law Hasan Kılıç from Çaykaralı, Trabzon.
He too passed away on April 22, 2024. He was replaced by Ahmed Fikri Doğan. However, in a video posted on his ‘YouTube’ channel in the morning, Cübbeli had declared the Denizli deputy İbrahim Uslu, who is said to be connected to Mahmud Ustaosmanoğlu’s Sheikh Ali Haydar Efendi of Ahıskalı, as a sheikh.
The biggest problem now is not Palestine? To whom will the followers of the sect perform the sect’s indispensable ritual ‘rabıta’? It is very difficult for the sect to maintain its former strength. They are already fragmented. Fortunately, Cübbeli has done a good job in this regard.
Menzil sheikhs, their business is trade!…
The first name that comes to mind when it comes to Menzil is Muhammad Rashid Erol. Those who opposed Sufism used to call this school rickets, a bone disease. Erol’s death in 1993 paved the way for his brother Abdulbaki Erol.
In the 2000s, the Menzil group split into two. This second group, also known as “Buhara”, is led by Fevzettin Erol, one of Muhammad Raşit Erol’s sons, who broke away from the main branch. The center of this group is the village of Buhara in Sivrihisar district of Eskişehir. Feyzeddin Erol said that his uncle, Seyda Abdülbaki Erol, had become a congregation instead of a Sufi and that is why he left them.
According to Feyzeddin Erol, Menzil made a mistake by becoming a foundation and establishing schools, hospitals, television channels and shopping malls. Feyzeddin Erol said that his uncle had offered him the presidency of the foundation and that he had refused and that the conversation between them was not very pleasant.
The last Menzil sheikh, Abdülbaki Erol, gave the caliphate to only three of his sons and did not directly appoint any of them as caliph to succeed him. So the division into three should be seen as a kind of his will. Nevertheless, the expectation was that one of the three brothers would settle in Menzil, one in Siirt, their original hometown, and the last one in Istanbul, where they would continue their sect activities. Apparently, there was no agreement between them about who would stay in Menzil, so they all decided to stay in the village. In short, first the village and then the sect were divided into three. They will not be able to display a strong sect structure as before.
Imamoglu retires as mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality!…
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is a lucky politician. He is the only name in Turkish political history to have gone from Istanbul Mayor to Prime Minister and President. Therefore, since it was thought that “whoever becomes mayor of Istanbul becomes prime minister or president”, sitting on that post was considered a political reference.
Ali Müfit Gürtuna was the first to try, but in vain? Neither the fact that his wife was from the same village as Erdoğan, nor the fact that he uncovered his head, nor the “Turquoise Movement” that he spent millions of dollars on could carry him to Ankara. He spends his time as a contractor.
Now Ekrem İmamoğlu, a native of Trabzon, who was elected Mayor of Istanbul for the second time, is also eager to make his way to Ankara. As I said; it is futile. Neither the Black Sea wind he thinks he has behind him, nor the dinner he had with the British Ambassador, nor the visit of German President Frank Walter Steinmeier, nor even the support of the Suleymanists, the congregation with blue skullcaps, are probably insufficient to put him in the presidential seat.
The first stake, so to speak, in Ekrem İmamoğlu came from IYI Party Chairperson Meral Akşener, whose seat was in trouble. Akşener, who left the “table of six” in last year’s elections, had stipulated that the mayors of Ankara and Istanbul should become vice-presidents if Kemal Kılıdaroğlu was elected. She knew best that this was saying amen to a prayer that would not be accepted. It meant that if the fish landed, both of you would be vice-presidents. Those who understood understood.
Istanbul barons may want Imamoğlu. Capital circles may want him. Even the Istanbul and Black Sea pillars of his party may want him. Even the US, Britain, Germany, Greece may want him. However, the fact that “Ankara is the place that every lucky man wants to see” seems to be forgotten. When Imamoğlu first became a candidate, Erdoğan warmly welcomed him and even gave him an appointment at Külliye.
Then the color changed. The “deep Ankara” in the Külliye changed course. What about Erdoğan’s invitation to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to the Külliye during the April 23rd reception? The new constitution will apparently be shaped by the AK Party-CHP. Do you think it was for nothing that Bahçeli sent a message through Ferdi Tayfur?
The March 31 municipal election results, especially in Ankara, where CHP’s Mansur Yavaş won a landslide victory, is a move by ‘deep Ankara’ against İmamoğlu. It should not be forgotten that Mansur Yavaş, with the rate of votes he received in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, is Ekrem İmamoğlu’s biggest partner and rival in the CHP presidential or presidential race.
