Harris made statements on the subject in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
The reporter reminded Harris that there was an age debate about Biden and asked if she would have to convince voters. Harris said, “I am ready to serve. There is no question mark about it.”
Vice-President Harris noted that his leadership capacity was seen by other people.
Biden’s age controversy
In the US, Special Authorized Prosecutor Robert Hur announced that President Joe Biden “knowingly” kept the classified documents found in his home, but that he would not file charges against Biden due to both his cooperation in the investigation and his “poor memory” to remember details about the documents.
“In a trial, Mr. Biden will likely present himself to the jury as a sympathetic, well-meaning old man with a poor memory, just as he did in his interview with us,” Hur wrote in his report.
In two different statements in January 2023, it was reported that classified documents from Biden’s time in the Senate and as vice president were found both in Biden’s personal office at the Penn Biden Center and later in part of his home.
Biden, on the other hand, reacted to Hur’s report by saying, “He called me a person with a bad memory, my memory is fine. It is stated that I do not remember the year of my son’s death, how dare they do this, who can forget this.” In the press conference where he reacted to a question about Gaza, he said, “I met with President Sisi of Mexico”, which became an agenda in the American public and media.
In particular, Republican members of Congress shared the video clip of Biden’s sentence on their social media accounts and commented, “Biden is not fit for the presidency.”
