In a written statement from the White House, it was noted that Biden, who returned to Washington by interrupting his weekend vacation, will meet with his national security team.
Biden, who will meet with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Brown, CIA Director Bill Burns and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan about Iran’s attack on Israel in the Situation Room, will follow the developments instantly.
Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, issued a written statement on the Iranian attack, saying, “Iran has launched an airstrike against Israel. President Biden’s message is clear: Our support for Israel’s security is unwavering. The United States stands with the people of Israel and supports their defense against threats from Iran.”
Stating that US President Biden returned to the White House today and closely followed the developments with his national security team, Watson noted that US officials were in contact with their Israeli counterparts at all times.
