According to information released by the Russian Central Election Commission, Putin owns a 78 square meter apartment in St. Petersburg and an 18 square meter garage in the same city.
Putin also owns a 1960 model GAZ M21, a 1965 model GAZ M21 and a 2009 model Niva, while the Russian leader has 54.4 million rubles (approximately 606 thousand dollars) in 10 different bank accounts.
Putin, who also owns 230 shares in the St. Petersburg Bank, has earned more than 67 million rubles (approximately 745 thousand dollars) in the last 6 years covering his presidential term, which started in 2018.
Presidential election in Russia
The country’s Federation Council decided in December 2023 to hold the presidential election on March 15-17, 2024.
Putin’s candidacy was approved yesterday by Russia’s Central Election Commission.
Putin, who will run as an independent candidate, will be supported in the election campaign by the “United Russia” party in the Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament.
The previous presidential election in Russia was held on March 18, 2018, and Putin was elected president with 76.69 percent of the vote.
