Trump posts on drone attack on US forces

Trump posted on the Truth social media platform about the drone attack on US forces at the US military base on the Jordan-Syria border.

Stating that the attack that resulted in the death of 3 US soldiers at the US military base on the Jordan-Syria border has emotionally wounded many and that today is a “terrible day” for the US, Trump expressed his condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives.

“This brazen attack on the United States is just another horrific and tragic consequence of (US President) Joe Biden’s weakness and capitulation,” Trump said, claiming that three years ago Iran was “weak, broke and completely in control.”

Referring to the effect of the “Maximum Pressure” policy he stated that he implemented during his presidency, Trump said, “The Iranian regime could barely scrape together two dollars to finance its terrorist proxies.”

“If I was president, this attack would not have happened”

Claiming that Biden gave billions of dollars to Iran, Trump argued that Iran used this money to commit “massacre and destruction” in the Middle East.

“If I were president, this attack would never have happened,” Trump said.

Claiming that the events of October 7, 2023 or the Ukraine-Russia War would not have happened if he had remained in office, Trump said that the world was “on the brink of World War III”.

Trump underlined that the drone strike is proof that his country urgently needs to return to a policy of “peace through strength”, noting that this is necessary to avoid chaos and carnage, as well as the loss of US lives.

At the end of his post, the former President said, “Our country cannot survive with Joe Biden as commander-in-chief.”

Drone attack on US forces

According to a written statement from the White House, Biden said, “Last night, three US soldiers were killed and several others wounded in a drone strike on our forces stationed northeast of Jordan, near the Syrian border.”

Biden stated that they are still gathering information about the attack and said, “We know that this was carried out by radical Iranian-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.”

Noting that those responsible for the attack will be held to account in the time and manner the US will choose, Biden emphasized that they will continue to fight this war.

In a written statement made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), it was stated that 3 US soldiers were killed and 25 people were wounded as a result of a one-way drone attack in northeast Jordan.

The Jordanian government announced that the attack on the US forces did not take place on its territory, but at the Tenef base on the Syrian border.
