The public hearing is broadcast live in the courtroom of the Court in The Hague, the Netherlands, where the parties are present.
Yesterday’s first day of hearings heard South Africa’s genocide accusations against Israel and its request for an injunction to halt the attacks, while today’s hearing sees the Israeli delegation presenting its defense.

The hearing of the “genocide” lawsuit filed by the Republic of South Africa against Israel regarding the request for an interim injunction was held yesterday, and South Africa presented its arguments on the first day of the hearing.
At the hearing, lawyers representing the South African side charged that Israel’s deliberate actions against Palestinians in Gaza proved its genocidal intent.

Netanyahu says accusations against his country in the UN’s highest judicial body are “lies”
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu claimed yesterday that “Israel is fighting genocide” despite the International Court of Justice case against his country for killing more than 23,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu reacted to South Africa’s “genocide” case against Israel at the ICJ in a video message shared on the Israeli Prime Ministry’s X social media platform.
Netanyahu argued that the accusations against his country in the UN’s highest judicial institution were “lies” and said, “Today, again, we have seen an upside-down world where the State of Israel is accused of genocide at a time when it is fighting genocide.”
Netanyahu called the Israeli army “the most moral army in the world” and claimed that Israeli forces “do everything to prevent civilian harm” in the face of clear evidence of deliberate targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu accused South Africa, which filed a lawsuit against Israel at the ICJ for “genocide”, of “hypocrisy” and claimed that they would “continue to fight terrorists and lies until a decisive victory”.
