An elderly beggar who was hospitalized in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, due to an illness he suffered, was revealed to be a millionaire after he died.
After the death of the beggar, his two siblings went to the house to get their sister’s ID card and found millions of Iraqi dinars and gold in bags.
When the brothers were caught by the headman of the neighborhood while loading the money and gold belonging to their sister into the car, the police were called to the scene.
Police searched the house and found gold and more than 380 thousand dollars in cash. Police detained the dead woman’s brothers.

Mohammad Saleh Mahdi, one of the policemen who participated in the search of the beggar’s house, said, “The detachment officer called me to report a death in the al-Kazimiya area. When we arrived at the scene, a man and a woman who came to search for the identity of the deceased beggar were taking money out of a house. The police teams immediately went to the scene and saw the beggar carrying the money hidden in sacks to the car.”

Police officer Abduljabbar Salih said, “We received a report of a fight. When we arrived at the scene, there was no fight, but we saw two people carrying sacks of money from a house to their car. We immediately detained them and called the center and told them that there was no fight, but sacks of large sums of money were taken out of a house by two people. The center asked us to stay at the scene and we handed over all the money found there.”
The woman’s neighbors stated that they helped her a lot and gave food to the orphaned woman. It was claimed that the dead woman’s son was a police officer.
