If you’ve got one of the new iPhones, you can bring this amazing – and in some cases useful – AI feature out of hiding.
Apparently, thanks to the “Magnifier” app, iPhones can give an accurate description of what they see in the camera.
Try your iPhone’s ‘Detection Mode’ feature
This feature, called Detection Mode, was introduced last year in the Magnifier app. Thanks to this Detection Mode, which is supported by iPhones with LiDAR sensors, it is possible to identify objects around you as text. The LiDAR sensor, which is included in all Pro models released since iPhone 12, can measure the depth in the direction the camera is facing with light pulses.

How about testing this feature for yourself? You can follow the steps below:
Open the Magnifier app (located in the “Tools” folder next to apps like Calculator and Voice Memos).
Press the square-like icon on the far right.
3.Press the text bubble icon.
4. Hold your iPhone up to any object and see it detect almost anything with amazing accuracy.
The Magnifying Glass app also has other features such as Door Detection, which can tell you the distance to the nearest entryway. It can even identify if there is a sign on the door. Apple says these tools are very useful for people with visual impairments. But it’s still an interesting capability that shows off the AI power of your iPhone.
