Elon Musk has stated that he intends to retire the famous Twitter Bird emblem with Twitter X

Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter late last year, the platform has undergone significant changes both in its operations and staff. Now, Musk is planning to overhaul Twitter’s core identity, specifically the iconic blue bird.

In a series of tweets and discussions on Twitter Spaces, Musk revealed his intention to bid farewell to the Twitter brand and eventually phase out the bird logo. This aligns with his broader vision of creating an all-encompassing app that incorporates Twitter.

In subsequent tweets, Musk mentioned that he would adopt a new logo globally if a compelling X logo is proposed. Shortly after, he shared a tweet featuring a flickering X logo, confirming his commitment to the change during a Twitter Spaces audio chat, expressing that this change should have occurred much earlier.

Despite Musk’s announcements, Twitter has not responded immediately. The company’s brand guidelines emphasize the significance of the blue bird as its most recognizable asset.

The implementation of these changes and their impact on the company are yet to be seen.

Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter last year, the company has experienced significant turmoil. It has faced lawsuits from former employees, a decline in advertisers on the platform, a security breach that exposed Twitter Circle tweets to everyone, and multiple outages. Musk’s venture into Twitter has been a challenging one.

Recently, Fidelity released a report estimating Twitter’s current value at approximately $15 billion, which is one-third of what Musk paid to acquire the company last year.
