Emphasizing that the breakthroughs in the defense industry started after the arms embargo imposed by the US in the 1970s, the article stated that Turkey’s path is ‘self-sufficiency’.
THE GOAL IS TO REACH 100 PERCENT
The newspaper quoted President Erdoğan as saying that Turkey is 70 percent self-sufficient in this field, and that the goal is to increase this rate to 100 percent.
