A proposal is being prepared to ban TikTok in Turkey!

Nationalist Movement Party Kırıkkale MP Halil Öztürk announced that they are working on a proposal to ban TikTok in Turkey.

TikTok, which led the 1-minute short video format to take over all social media, faced a nationwide ban in the US after President Joe Biden signed the relevant bill. TikTok was banned in the US due to concerns that the platform was spying on behalf of China.

It seems that TikTok will have a headache in Turkey in the coming period. Nationalist Movement Party Kırıkkale MP Halil Öztürk stated that the party is preparing a proposal to ban TikTok in Turkey. Öztürk also used very harsh expressions for TikTok, such as “The swamp needs to be drained.”

“It is clear that TikTok should be shut down immediately.”

“It is clear that TikTok, which contains immoral posts and tramples on our national values, should be shut down as soon as possible. I would like it to be known that we are preparing a bill in this direction.” The MP stated that the posts made on a social media platform where moral values are disregarded should be seen as a threat to the social order and continued his statements as follows:

“This is necessary first and foremost for a healthy society in which to raise our children. If morality disappears, the future disappears. A society whose morals are damaged or destroyed, whose national and spiritual values are being eroded every day, cannot prepare its future and cannot build its future on solid grounds. In this sense, it is clear that TikTok, which contains immoral posts and tramples on our national values, should be shut down as soon as possible. I would like it to be known that we are preparing a bill in this direction. I hope that the necessary measures and steps will be taken against all kinds of elements that aim to disrupt the cultural codes of the Turkish nation, and our national culture and moral structure will never be disrupted.”
