Stallone again goes off at ‘ROCKY’ PRODUCER Over ‘Drago’ Spin-Off Film

Sylvester Stallone is once again openly criticizing one of the original producers of the “Rocky” franchise because he is unhappy with the direction the brand is taking.

Irwin Winkler, who assisted in the early development of “Rocky,” and who reportedly has an interest in the intellectual property (IP) although SS has none himself, was the target of Sly’s second set of attacks this weekend.

Sylvester has a feud with Irwin over this, and he made it obvious in yet another Instagram critique by posting art renditions of Irwin and other people as animals and villains who are stabbing Sly in the back, among other things.

As Sylvester puts it: “After FAMILY SUCK ROCKY DRY and IRWIN WINKLER! The supposedly most despised, untalented, and aged producer in Hollywood has found his next meal, along with his cowardly kids. Drago, BLOODSUCKERS, RETURN MY RIGHTS!”

He is referring to the rumors that Dolph Lundgren will reprise his role from “Rocky IV” in a spin-off movie, something Sylvester claims he was unaware of and strongly disagrees with. He claims he never intended for these priceless characters of his to be exploited to this extent in subsequent projects.

When addressing his former co-star by name, Sylvester claims that he views this as nothing more than a ruthless money-grab and questions why he didn’t get in touch with him to discuss the situation before news got out.

By the way, a few weeks ago… Sylvester was also expressing his disappointment at not being able to claim any of “Rocky” for himself. and he begged Irwin to act morally and give up some of the rights, which he believes — at least in part — belong to him since he created “Rocky.”

Recently, Sylvester has become more vocal about this, and things are becoming nasty. Some supporters support Sly… while being criticized by others for his disrespectful behavior.

Dolph has sent a response to Sly’s worries “Just to clear up any confusion regarding a potential Drago spinoff. I had the notion that my buddy Sly Stallone was engaged as a producer or maybe an actor, but there is no script that has been authorized, no arrangements are in place, and there is no director. Last week there was a press leak, which was bad. In contact with Mr. Balboa so that all the admirers can unwind… That’s it.”

Irwin and his children, several of whom currently work on “Rocky” projects, have kept mum about the subject.
