FBI's remarkable nuclear accusation for Huawei!

The FBI has made terrible allegations about Huawei equipment. According to FBI officials, Huawei could disrupt US nuclear communications.

The United States, trying to cut Chinese tech giant Huawei out of its network, is examining the company’s telecommunications equipment. According to the latest allegation from the FBI, Huawei equipment has the potential to disrupt Defense Department communications, including US nuclear weapons.

FBI: Huawei could disrupt US nuclear communications

US cell towers equipped with Huawei’s telecommunications equipment are under scrutiny. The latest FBI investigation, reported by CNN, said that Huawei could obtain sensitive data belonging to the US military through its communications equipment. It even claimed that the Chinese government could access US nuclear information.

Huawei equipment used in the US Midwest states is notable for its proximity to military bases. According to the FBI’s statement, this equipment needs to be replaced quickly. Otherwise, communications at the US Strategic Command could be leaked.

It was stated that Huawei equipment in highly sensitive areas could be used to collect military intelligence. FBI officials believe that nuclear systems could also be in danger. “With the nuclear triad (a type of nuclear weapon), it would affect our command and control capability,” a former FBI official told CNN.

FBI Director Christopher Wray stated the following:

“That’s probably about 2,000 or so investigations,” said Wray. “And that’s not even talking about their cyber theft, where they have a bigger hacking program than that of every other major nation combined, and have stolen more of Americans’ personal and corporate data than every nation combined.”

Asked why after years of national security concerns raised over Huawei, the equipment is still largely in place atop cell towers near US military bases, Wray said that, “We’re concerned about allowing any company that is beholden to a nation state that doesn’t adhere to and share our values, giving that company the ability to burrow into our telecommunications infrastructure.”

He noted that in 2020, the DOJ indicted Huawei with racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to steal trade secrets.
“And I think that’s probably about all I can say on the topic,” said Wray.

Anonymous sources do not know for now whether data was leaked to China or any other country, but the Chinese government has denied the allegation of spying on the US. Huawei has also said that the equipment in its base stations does not operate on the Department of Defense’s communications spectrum.

Dating back to the era of former US President Obama, Huawei deals have been under scrutiny by the authorities for some time. Last week, for example, the White House confirmed that it is investigating Huawei and its telecommunications equipment for alleged threats to national security.
