Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelensky called for Russia to be deprived of its rights at the United Nations (UN), accusing it of being a “terrorist state”
Ukraine summoned the UN Security Council (UNSC) to a meeting after Russia intensified its attacks and a shopping center in Kremenchuk was hit.
Addressing the UNSC for the second time since the beginning of the war, Zelensky said that Moscow hit Ukraine with 62 missiles last Saturday and 26 rockets on Sunday.
Zelensky called on the UN to conduct an independent investigation into the attack on the shopping center in which 18 people were killed.
Accusing Russia of being a “terrorist state”, Zelensky called on the international community to deprive Russia of its rights in the UN General Assembly and the UNSC until it ends its terrorist activities.
Zelensky said that Russia should not take part in the UN General Assembly and the UNSC.
UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo announced that 4,731 people have lost their lives in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.
