A US poll found that 58 percent of the public blamed former President Donald Trump for his role in the January 6 raid on Congress.
Nearly 6 in 10 respondents to the ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted last week said Trump should be prosecuted for “inciting the January 6 Congressional riot.”
Nationally, 58 percent of nationally representative adults polled said Trump bears “a great deal” or “a good amount” of responsibility for the raid on Congress.
In a similar poll conducted in April, 52 percent of respondents said Trump should be prosecuted for the raid on Congress.
Six in 10 Americans surveyed said they believe the congressional committee investigating the raid conducted a fair and impartial investigation.
