Russian President Vladimir Putin accused the United States of America (USA) of seeing itself as God’s messenger in the world, claiming that the EU has lost 400 billion dollars due to sanctions.
Putin spoke at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, where no Western countries were present.
Harshly criticizing the United States and its Western allies, Putin said, “The United States, which declared victory in the Cold War, has declared itself God’s messenger on earth, which has no responsibility, has only interests and declares these interests sacred.”

“The EU has lost more than 400 billion dollars”
Putin claimed that the sanctions against Russia have not been successful, on the contrary, EU countries have lost more than 400 billion dollars due to the sanctions.
“Western countries do not seem to have noticed that new power centers have emerged in the world in recent years and that these countries are expressing themselves more and more strongly. Each of these countries is developing its own political systems and state institutions, implementing its own models of economic growth. Of course, these countries have the right to protect them and ensure their national sovereignty.”
Claiming that Western countries behave with the feeling that only they can rule the world, Putin said, “The leaders of some Western countries have such illusions. They do not want to see some realities and persistently cling to the shadow of the past. They only think about the West’s dominance in politics and the outside world.”
Putin argued that the Russian people are strong like their ancestors and can successfully overcome sanctions and solve all problems.
Putin claimed that the US and its allies want to change the course of history and weaken independent and sovereign Russia.
