Microsoft and Volkswagen want to enhance the car driving experience with virtual reality glasses with a joint work plan.
The trend towards virtual reality glasses, which has become popular with the concept of metaverse, is increasing. Microsoft announced the second version of its virtual headset series, called HoloLens, at the Mobile World Congress in February 2019. The company will partner with Volkswagen to expand the range of HoloLens 2 virtual headers.

HoloLens 2 comes to the car scene in partnership with Microsoft and Volkswagen
Since 2018, Microsoft and Volkswagen have been working on a “mobile platform” program that will allow HoloLens 2 to be used on the road. Although HoloLens technology was produced for use in harsh and mobile environments, it did not work efficiently in car driving.
Two major companies have announced a new collaborative plan to bring augmented reality (AR) title HoloLens to transportation. HoloLens 2 is designed to mimic the way people experience the surrounding environment. If the partnership achieves its goal, HoloLens 2 will also be available in traffic.
On the other hand, the title HoloLens 3, which is expected to be a sequel to the series, has literally turned into a snake story. We were first informed by key sources that version 3 of the HoloLens VR headsets, which are under development, had been cancelled.
Following these rumors, the company said in recent months that holoLens 3 work continued smoothly. So much so that according to some sources, the partnership between Microsoft and Volkswagen will continue in the third version of the series.
