SpaceX’s latest shipment has arrived in Ukraine, according to a photo posted on Twitter by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. Elon Musk, who has helped keep Ukrainians online with Starlink internet terminals since the war began, is helping Ukraine get rid of Russian networks.

How Elon Musk’s Starlink move has affected Russia-Ukraine
Elon Musk’s Starlink technology was “very effective” in keeping Ukrainians online during the Russian invasion, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said, underlining that he and Musk were in close contact. Fedorov did not give the exact number of Starlink terminals connected to satellites, but reports show there are more than 5,000.

Fedorov last tweeted about the arrival of Starlink terminals on Friday, saying Ukraine had become open to the world while Russia blocked access to the internet. He also remembered to thank Musk, the Polish government and fuel retailer Orlen:

“A new group of Starlink stations! While Russia is blocking access to the internet, Ukraine is becoming more open to the world. Ukraine is real. The truth always wins. Thank you, Elon Musk, the Polish government and Orlen.”

Starlink technology also helps Ukrainian troops. Reports say Ukrainian soldiers controlling drones are tracking Russian invaders. The Aerorozvidka (Aerial Reconnaissance) unit is receiving assistance from Starlink technology to access intelligence data, especially for soldiers in rural areas.

Musk warned that in the days 1990s, when the Starlink shipment began, the terminals could be targeted by Russian-controlled aircraft. Starlink advised camouflaating its networks and placing them in rural areas as much as possible.

Fedorov also said they are working with European countries to send additional satellites in case of possible internet outages. Starlink said they would take their terminals to areas in Ukraine where internet service is cut off.
