NATO summit convened

The Extraordinary Virtual Summit of NATO Leaders to discuss Russia’s attacks on Ukraine has started. In his opening speech, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said, “Despite all our efforts, Russia has rejected the diplomatic process. We condemn Russia’s attacks and call for it to immediately cease its military actions.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the meeting online from Canada, England, France, Romania, Iceland, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, USA and Norway, as well as Spain, Estonia, Croatia, Poland and Turkey. After the opening speech, Secretary General Stoltenberg asked the press to come out and said that the meeting with NATO leaders would continue. Stoltenberg is expected to hold a press conference on the summit at 17:00 local time.
