In an anti-immigrant campaign speech at a rally in Wisconsin on the day of his court appearance, Donald Trump claimed that the United States was heading towards its own “October 7-style attack”.
Speaking in the contested state on Wednesday, the former president told supporters that President Joe Biden plans to bring “large numbers” of Gazans from the Middle East to cities across the country.
Trump said Biden was “determined to create the conditions” for an attack similar to the one that took place in Israel last year, which led to a violent conflict that is still ongoing.
On October 7, 2023, militants killed around 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and took around 250 hostages in southern Israel. Israel says the militants are still holding around 100 hostages and the bodies of more than 30 people.
According to local health officials, more than 34,000 Palestinians have so far been killed in the fighting and nearly 80 percent of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million have been displaced from their homes.
During the rally, Trump claimed that “thousands” of refugees from the Middle East, including Gaza, would soon be brought to the US.
“In addition to the millions and millions of people invading our country by crossing the border, this is great news for the young people in Wisconsin, crooked Joe is now reportedly planning to bring large numbers of Gazans from the Middle East to American cities, towns and villages, which should come as no surprise,” he told supporters.
Your cities and villages will now receive people from Gaza. Many people from Gaza and from various other places, from Yemen, from many other places.
Joe Biden seems determined to create the conditions for an October 7th-style attack in America. With all these people coming from the southern border, this will happen.
These statements follow reports that the Biden administration is considering bringing some Palestinians fleeing the war-torn territories to the United States as refugees in order to provide them with a permanent safe haven.
According to internal federal government documents obtained by CBS News, various US federal agencies are considering the feasibility of different options for the resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza who are US citizens or have immediate family members who are permanent US residents.
The White House has not commented publicly on such plans.
Speaking in Wisconsin on Wednesday, Trump continued to oppose all forms of immigration, telling the crowd, “We are such a troubled country that something like this could happen, it would be impossible to vet them, and the numbers would explode rapidly beyond our control as a result of chain migration.”
It will get out of control because chain migration will allow them to bring everyone they touch.
Under no circumstances should we bring thousands of refugees from Hamas-controlled terror centers like Gaza to the U.S. We can’t do that.
