STATEMENT AFTER IRAN-ISRAEL TENSIONS
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a new statement on the Iran-Israel tension. In the statement made by the Ministry, it was pointed out that the tension between the two countries, which started with the attack, risks turning into a permanent conflict following the latest developments.
The statement from the Ministry is as follows,
“There is a risk that the tension, which started with Israel’s attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus in violation of international law, will turn into a permanent conflict following the latest developments. We are closely following the events,” the statement said.
“We call on all parties to refrain from steps that could lead to a wider conflict. The priority of the international community should be to stop the massacre in Gaza and to establish a Palestinian state to ensure lasting peace in our region.”
WHAT HAPPENED?
Iranian media reported that explosions were heard around the city of Isfahan early this morning and that three unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed after the country’s air defense systems were activated.
A senior Iranian official told Reuters that there were “no immediate plans for retaliation” after the Israeli attack and that “there is no clear explanation of who was behind the attack.”
