Russia made a statement today following the Iranian airstrike on Israel.

The Kremlin expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East and called on all countries in the region to exercise restraint.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said further escalation was in no one’s interest, adding that “Moscow believes that all disputes should be resolved through diplomatic means.”

The previous day, Iran had retaliated for the suspected Israeli attack on its embassy compound in Syria on April 1, which killed senior Revolutionary Guards commanders.

Iran, which launched air strikes on Israel, said that any further action by the Tel Aviv government would be met with an even harsher response.
