A Turkish Airlines (THY) passenger flight from Warsaw to Istanbul was forced to land in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, after a bomb threat.

According to the statement of Turkish Airlines Press Office, flight TK 1766 with 150 passengers took off from Warsaw Airport in the evening for Istanbul flight.

Upon a bomb threat, the captain pilot of the plane contacted the Air Traffic Control Center of Bucharest Airport in Romania and requested permission to land.

THY plane landed at Bucharest Airport without any problems.

While the passengers on board were evacuated, Romanian police launched a detailed search in the cabin and cargo compartment of the plane.

The investigation revealed that the report was unfounded.

After the passengers were taken on board again, the plane took off from Bucharest to complete its flight and is expected to land in Istanbul at 03.20.
