THY’s Boeing B737-800 type aircraft with flight number TK-2658 took off from Istanbul Airport at 08:25 in the morning for Sivas flight.

Shortly after take-off, the cockpit window of the plane cracked for an unknown reason. The pilot of the aircraft then contacted Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Control Center and requested permission to return.

The plane, which had a cracked cockpit window, landed at Istanbul Airport at 09:10 without any problems.

Passengers will be sent on another flight

After landing at Istanbul Airport, the plane was taken into maintenance to have its windows replaced, while a new plane was allocated for the passengers.
