Lavrov held a press conference after the ADF held at the NEST Congress Center in Belek Tourism Region.
Stating that the ADF has been completed, Lavrov said, “This is a relatively new political science format initiated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.”
Stating that they could not meet due to the devastating earthquake in Turkey last year, Lavrov reminded that all efforts should be intensified to overcome the consequences of the earthquake and help the victims.
Lavrov pointed out that Russia was one of the first countries to help Turkey at that time and said that they sent search and rescue teams, construction materials and humanitarian aid to the earthquake zone.
“I hope the discussion (in the forum) was useful”
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Turkish colleagues once again through the press for their hospitality and warm welcome,” Lavrov said, noting that more than 100 countries, including heads of state and government, were represented at this year’s ADF and that there were many participants at the level of foreign ministers.
Lavrov said that in the framework of the programs at the forum he drew attention to the “blatant disregard by the US-led Collective West of the principle of respect for the sovereign equality of all states and the principles of the United Nations Charter,” adding that the West is using the current international situation to impose its own rules.
“I hope the discussion (at the forum) was useful. The session where President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke and other panels emphasized the need to rethink where we are and how we approach our international obligations.” he assessed.
